FRIMLEY Health NHS Foundation Trust has won two top honours for an initiative to better engage staff and thereby improve patient care and safety.

The trust, which runs Frimley Park Hospital as well as Wexham Park in Slough and Heatherwood in Ascot, was crowned the overall winner at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) People Management Awards.

Judges particularly praised a programme of strategies at Frimley Health spanning a range of areas, from culture and leadership to reward and customer service.

These led to improved perceptions in staff surveys, better staff turnover and sickness levels, improved performance and increased patient satisfaction, a higher rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and recognition from Investors in People.
