HASLEMERE Fringe Festival is looking for volunteers for the three day family friendly event, which returns to Lion Green, just off Wey Hill on July 1, 2 and 3.
A volunteers’ evening is being held on Wednesday, May 11, from 6.30pm, hosted by Hemingways cafe and bar in the High Street, which will offer more information.
The festival is a charity event, run and supported entirely by a volunteer network from the local community – and beyond – with people giving as much time as they want to, even an hour or two helping on the bar, constructing the site, manning the gate, or taking tickets.
“It all helps to keep the ticket prices as low as possible for the benefit of the community” said a spokesman.
The Fringe offers alternative and popular music, classical and contemporary dance, arts and crafts, performance poetry, inter-school poetry slams, drama and theatre, children’s entertainment, comedy clubs and food and drink.
The spokesman added: “Equally, the Fringe Committee would love to hear new ideas for improving the Haslemere Fringe Festival going forward, so go to www.lionfest.co.uk if you have a general suggestion or enquiry or, indeed, if you want to book a stall.”
