AN art exhibition by Lucy Pittaway, shortlisted for the Fine Art Trade Guild’s “Up and Coming Artist of the Year 2016”, and the official artist of the Tour de Yorkshire 2016, is being held at Haslemere Museum, this month.

Lucy, a pastel artist based in Richmond, Yorkshire, likes to use bright, vibrant and fun imagery to capture the sights and sounds of her daily life in the hills of the Yorkshire Dales.

With family in Haslemere, she is a regular visitor to the area, and inspired by local hot air balloons, walks in places such as The Devil’s Punchbowl, Petworth House and Blackdown, Lucy has added paintings based on local landmarks to her collections which are available to view at the exhibition.

A member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, Lucy has exhibited at a number of prominent venues, but the exhibition in Haslemere is the first held outside of the North Yorkshire region.

Lucy’s work is new and unseen in Surrey, with a selection of original artwork and prints from the collections all available at the museum.

Pictures from her new Tour De Yorkshire 2016 collection should prove popular with the high number of avid cyclists in the Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire boarders.

She said: “I am delighted to share a collection of my work at such a fabulous venue as Haslemere Museum.

“With my art based on the beautiful countryside, with many pieces inspired by the scenery surrounding Haslemere, I hope my art resonates with local people who visit the museum and ultimately makes them smile.”

With over 10,000 Facebook fans in over 25 countries around the world, Lucy has seen her work shipped around the globe.

Collections include The Cows, The Sheep, The Houses, and Le Tour Cycling inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire, in a range of sizes across both open and limited edition and box canvass prints.

Lucy Pittaway greetings cards and notebooks will also be available for sale in the museum shop.

The exhibition is open from Tuesday until Saturday between 10am and 5pm until Saturdyak April 23
