LIPHOOK Travel held its first World Choice holiday show at the Millennium Centre, attracting more than 200 visitors.

The independent, family-run business, based in Headley Road, was joined by 13 business partners exhibiting an extensive variety of bespoke and exotic holiday options as well as staging several presentations throughout the day.

They offered safaris, a varity of cruises, exciting rail journeys including travels from St Pancras to Beijing, a variety of tours, many cultural experiences, adventure trips. luxury tours and relaxing beach holidays.

Exhibitors included the Classic and Africa Collections, Exodus Travels, Great Rail Journeys, Kirker Cultural trips, Riviera, Sunvil and Serenity Travels, Wendy Wu Tours, Inside Japan Tours, Travelpack, Consierge and tailor made travel packages by If Only Travel.

Favourite destinations include Japan, which will be hosting the 2019 Rugby World Cup as well as the 2020 Olympics, Silk Road tours as feature by actress Joanna Lumley in her current ITV series, as well as trips exploring Vietnam, Cambodia and China.

Four generations of the Meech family were present at the company’s first such show, including Jean, who founded the business nearly 50 years ago.

Her son Andrew told The Herald: “Our holiday show has been a great success with really positive feedback from both clients and suppliers.

“We have found the experience and adventure holidays are getting more and more popular.

“Each of the exhibitors offered a unique travel package with bespoke and concierge options.”

Sister Frances Cloude added: “We really appreciate the support we received from everyone including our exhibitors and especially the L&S Gift and Coffee House who provided refreshments and helped to make our show a great success and community event.”

Liphook Travel was established in 1971 and the family business has continued to go from strength to strength, Jean said.
