FUNDING totalling £80,000 is up for grabs for Farnham’s many good causes and community organisations from the South Street Trust and Farnham Town Council’s community grants scheme.

The council is inviting applications now from local charities and community projects that meet the criteria of the grants, which varies with each scheme.

The South Street Trust is specifically for projects that are art-based educational activities. A total of £20,000 is available to be spread across successful applicants. The deadline for applications is 12pm, January 8.

But applications for up to £2,000 can be made by any local not-for-profit organisation for a community grant. Applicants will need to show how their project will help community life or the environment in Farnham or surrounding villages. The deadline is 12pm on November 30.

Council leader Carole Cockburn said: “There are some excellent local organisations in Farnham and lots of deserving projects that could benefit from the grants we administer.

“Applications have just opened for our community grants and the South Street Trust, with cheques paid around April next year. Do check the criteria on our website www.farnham.gov.uk/grants as it does vary for each grant.”
