LAST week's Government announcement that it is to slash in half the £60m Labour had allocated for the first four eco-towns, has put the future of the Bordon project in doubt.

Conservative housing minister Grant Shapps has been reported as saying that the £60m approved by the previous Government, and to be split between Bordon and three other towns, would be cut by half in 2010-2011.
