THE so-called Farnham Christmas House in Greenfield Road has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grand switch-on event attended by more than 200 people.

Over the past two-and-a-half decades, Olympic torchbearer Gail Whattingham has amassed a light display boasting some 100,000 bulbs, all in the name of local charities.

And last Friday a large crowd gathered to watch Chris Tuckwell, whose mother founded this year's nominated charity Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, turn on the display.
