ZUMBA instructors have been in the pink making plans in Alton to promote an “exciting, fun filled, dance party” in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Taking place in the sports hall at Amery Hill School, Alton, between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday, March 12, the participants will “party in pink” to raise money for the charity.

Licensed zumba instructors Kate Sadler and Mandy Wilson, who run classes in and around Alton, are organising the event and have been teaching this Latin American-inspired fitness dance for several years. They will be joined on stage by fellow instructors Tracye Jarrod, Dayana Sanchez and Alison Edwards, who teach in and around Bordon, Basingstoke and Farnham.

Kate said: “We have already been overwhelmed by the interest and support for the zumbathon. What better reason is there for getting a sweat on than such a worthwhile cause? Whether you dance for half an hour or three hours, the room will be buzzing so let’s make every move count!”

Zumba wear will be available to buy at the event, plus various local health and fitness stands. There will be a raffle and refreshments available throughout.

The zumbathon is open to the public, including newcomers to the fitness regime. For further details about the Stand up to Cancer Zumbathon, and to buy tickets, call Kate on 07738 668173 or e-mail [email protected], or call Mandy on 07551617498 or e-mail [email protected].
