THREE major fundraising events for the Rebuilding Ropley Church Appeal are being held in September.

St Peter’s Church in Ropley was badly damaged by a fire in 2014 (pictured) and proceeds will be match-funded by an anonymous donor up to a maximum of £50,000.

The first event, hosted by Hellards estate agents of Broad Street in Alresford and taking place on September 2 from 6.30 to 7.30pm, will be a Zoom talk and question-and-answer session by Nicholas Claxton – the Emmy Award-winning director of the film Winnie Mandela And The Missing Witness – on how the film was made. For tickets, priced £10, visit www.stpetersropley.org.uk

Currently taking place, and finishing on September 4 at 9pm, is an online auction. Lots include activities, holidays, paintings and other goods. Visit www.stpetersropley.org.uk for more details of the lots and how to bid for them.

On September 5 there will be a car boot sale at Station Hill in Ropley.

Sellers can book a pitch at www.stpetersropley.org.uk and should arrive on the site at 7.30am. For buyers the site is open from 8.30am to midday.

A donation on entry of £1 per adult is suggested and there will be burgers and ice cream available.
