AN AUTHOR has launched a fundraising campaign to help a fan out of a difficult financial situation.

Four Marks resident Jude Wright and her partner Hillary Boxall have been enduring a difficult time recently.

Hillary was made redundant in October and the pair have since struggled to make ends meet.

Jude, who suffers from chronic illness, spoke out on Twitter about how stressful it is to have “no money”.

Reading this, author Adam Hamdy set up a justgiving.com fundraiser which has already exceeded its £500 target.

“I’ve known Jude as a book reader and fan for a couple of years and no matter what life throws at her she always seems thoughtful and enthusiastic,” he explained.

He hoped to raise some extra money to “make life easier for Jude and her partner until a job comes along”.

Jude told the Herald she burst into tears when she heard about it.

“It’s such a lovely thing to do,” she added. “I was totally gobsmacked.”

Adam’s latest book, Black 13, is out now.
