The Spire Church in Farnham experienced its liveliest event for a long time on October 1.

Liz Lee had organised a fundraising concert for the Pilgrim’s Project and many local talents performed to a packed church.

Misha Andreev, at only ten years old, was a highly accomplished violinist and pianist. Liz Lee’s Wildflowers Acapella Group added a wonderful mellow touch to the evening. Vocalist Francesca Horne filled the church with her beautiful voice.

Singer and songwriter Ed Lee showcased his talent with several songs and the Carrington Family impressed the audience with their high level of ensemble playing. The evening was closed by an incredibly uplifting performance by the Farnham Music and Drama Jazz Band.

It was wonderful to see so many young people on stage and performing with extreme professionalism, confidence and skill. Music is well and truly alive in Farnham.

The scene was set beautifully by an art exhibition by Helena and Dave Walker. Several local businesses generously donated raffle prizes and a local photographer, Sam Lehane of Samuel James Studio, took photos during the event.

The evening raised around £900 for the Pilgrim’s Project to modernise and extend the café, community facilities and worship space at The Spire Church, which are open to the general public seven days a week.
