FARNHAM Fundraising Group for Marie Curie will be supporting Carers’ Week which kicks off on Monday.

Carers’ Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges that carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

The campaign is brought to life by the individuals and organisations who come together to organise activities and events throughout the UK, drawing attention to just how important caring is.

One of the organisations supporting Carers’ Week is Sainsbury’s. The Farnham Fundraising Group for Marie Curie will be at Sainsbury’s Water Lane, Farnham, every day from Monday, June 6, to Saturday, June 11, between 10am and 6pm to give out leaflets and information about Marie Curie and how they can support carers.

Linda Lawrence, chairman of the Farnham Fundraising Group said: “Many carers, sadly, may find themselves looking after loved ones facing a terminal illness.

“Marie Curie nurses are dedicated to helping and supporting these patients and the families and friends who are caring for them, going into their homes and staying all night to offer nursing care, a helping hand or just someone to talk to - whatever they need.

“The charity also has a helpline for carers who often don’t know where to turn when faced with this difficult situation. We are very grateful to Sainsbury’s Water Lane for giving us this opportunity to fundraise while spreading the word about the wonderful work of Marie Curie during Carers’ Week.”
