Sunday’s launch party included banana bunging, banana barbecuing and some very strange looking human bananas.
One hundred and twenty supporters enjoyed a beautiful crisp sunny day and kicked off a year of fundraising.
The building work has planning permission and a start on the project is planned for January 2019.
The Scouts’ campsite is used by more than 3,000 campers each year and the facilities now need updating and improving.
The campsite has been running for 42 years and district commissioner Philip German (alias Big Banana) hopes that some of the many old Scouts who have happy memories might make a donation to this great youth resource. To donate visit www.farnhamscouting.com.
