FUN Friday has certainly lived up to its name in fine style in Alton.

The weekly entertainment run by Alton Town Council in the Public Gardens has been attracting young funseekers during the school summer holidays - and will continue to do so throughout August.

Last week, the town’s community beauty spot attracted tiny pirates, princesses and fairies for a host of fun games and activities, as well as the chance to strut their stuff with Moving Monkeez, which offers dance and fitness sessions for children.

Everyone from toddlers to seven year olds joined in and swayed to the music on Friday before cooling down courtesy of bottles of water provided by Specsavers.

Natalie Beckell, who organised the event on behalf of Alton Town Council, said: “As always, we had a good turnout and, as we had so many children dressed as pirates, princesses and fairies, which was the theme of the event, we were able to hold a fancy-dress competition.”
