THE future of two level crossings north of Petersfield is up in the air after talks between Network Rail and the town council.

People in Sheet could be asked in the coming months for their views on the possible closure of the School Lane crossing.
Network Rail has confirmed that it would like to close the crossing and replace it with a footbridge to make it safer for school pupils and residents.
The company would also like to install a full barrier at the nearby Kingsfernsden Lane crossing but stressed that its plans are aspirational at present.
