THE Friends of St Andrew’s has great pleasure in welcoming for the second year the Farnham Brass Band which will perform a gala concert at St Andrew’s Church on Saturday, October 15, commencing at 7pm.

The Friends of St Andrew’s (FoStA) was founded in 1997 with the objective of giving financial support for the maintenance of the fabric of the building for the benefit of the whole community and the autumn concert forms an essential part of the fundraising calendar.

The gala concert will be led by the Farnham Brass Band musical director David Wright and the band will play a varied programme of music spanning 400 years.

Appearing with the band are two well-known singers, Nora Price and Simon Cakebread, most recently seen together in this year’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Grand Duke by the Godalming Operatic Society.

The programme will also include the Jazz Quartet Alegria (Spanish for Joy) led by band tenor horn player Alex Forsyth.

The evening will be introduced by the newly installed rector of Farnham, David Uffindell.

Tickets are available from Lloyd and Keyworth, Downing Street, Farnham or on the door.
