AS a way of saying thank you to the community, Alton’s Allen Gallery hosted its annual charities fete.

And the gallery’s beautiful garden proved the perfect setting for the August 4 fete as the the sun beat down on a variety of stalls, games and activities.

Volunteer Sheila John said: “We were very busy, particularly in the morning, and everyone enjoyed the variety of things that filled the garden.

“We invite the local charities to set up their stalls or games and activities for free as our way of saying thank you to the local community and it was a very successful day.”
