YOUNG gamers have raised more than £1,000 for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, after the launch of a new campaign.
Alfie Howes, Tom Young and Matt Wills raised £1,483 through Phyllis Tuckwell’s Gaming for Good campaign, which asks gaming enthusiasts to be sponsored to take on a challenge.
Alfie and Matt completed 24-hour gaming sessions, while Tom did a 12-hour session, and all streamed their gaming.
Samantha West, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell, thanked the boys for their efforts, adding: “£1,483 is enough to pay for nearly two weeks’ care from one of our counsellors, helping patients and families with the emotional impact of living with an advanced or terminal illness, and supporting families through bereavement.”
