A CELEBRITY gardener has spruced up a garden owned by a loving Petersfield couple with an unlucky streak.

Everything is finally coming up roses for Jean and Alan Sloman thanks to their wonderful neighbours and ITV's This Morning programme.

Mr Sloman is a former Paralympian and serial fundraiser who has completed three London Marathons despite having limited sight.

The 54-year-old, who is also deaf, has also cycled the length of Britain and helps people to deal with sudden sight and hearing loss.

Sorting out the garden has been the pair's least concern having faced illness, unemployment and major surgery in recent years.

But neighbours were determined to give the Cranford Road couple a break – and persuaded ITV producers to give their garden a makeover.
