Phyllis Tuckwell has launched its Open Gardens event, supported by Squire’s Garden Centres.
Residents are opening their gardens to raise money to support the care the hospice offers patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness.
Gardens of many different shapes, sizes and designs will be on display across Guildford, Farnham, Binstead, Tilford, Dockenfield and Liphook.
For a small fee visitors are invited to wander around them, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of each and may be taking away a few ideas to try out on their own green spaces at home.
Sarah Squire, chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, said: “We are so pleased to support Phyllis Tuckwell’s Open Gardens event. This is a lovely opportunity to appreciate the beauty of local gardens and pick up inspiration to take home.
“I hope many people will come and visit some of the stunning gardens in our area to raise money for this important local service.”
Charli Quay-Barnham, community fundraising manager at Phyllis Tuckwell, added: “We are delighted to be partnering Squires Garden Centres. All the gardens involved in this event are listed in our Open Gardens brochure, copies of which are available at www.pth.org.uk/open-gardens or can be picked up at any Phyllis Tuckwell shop.”
Many of the Open Gardens locations are partly wheelchair-friendly. Refreshments are available at many of them, and some will also be selling plants.
