BOYS from 5th Farnham (Bourne) Beavers put some old bicycle helmets to good use this week ahead of the Maltings’s first ever festival of cycling.
‘Bike: a festival of cycling’ will kick off at Farnham Maltings at 10am on Sunday, July 10, promising a pelotons-worth of talks, workshops, films, stalls and more for cyclists of all ages and abilities until 5pm.
In the build-up to the event, 5th Farnham (Bourne) Beavers joined festival organisers on Tuesday to plant a dozen ‘helmet hanging baskets’ next to the Maltings in Longbridge.
The plants were donated by Frensham Garden Centre and will adorn the bridge over the River Wey for today’s visit of the Britain In Bloom judges.
Admission to this Sunday’s festival of cycling costs £5 (under 15s free). For more information, visit the website farnhammaltings.com/events/bike-a-festival-of-cycling/.
