VICTORY in the final of the British Amateur Championship last Saturday would have earned Sam Hutsby an invitation to next month's Open at Turnberry and a dream trip to the 2010 Masters at Augusta.

But Liphook's England international – the first player from Hampshire ever to reach the final – found himself upstaged by a 16-year-old Italian, who wrote his own page in the R&A's history books by becoming the youngest ever champion in the event's 125-year history.
