A DELAY in full approval of the refurbishment plans for the Georgian Hotel in Haslemere High Street will harm the owner's chances of finding a suitable partner to run the hotel, the Haslemere and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce has claimed.
The chamber is also concerned that deferment of the plans will have an "adverse effect" on existing businesses and on this "great opportunity" to find a solution to this "eyesore" in the town.
The plans, which have been given a cautious welcome by Haslemere Town Council, are due to be discussed by Waverley Borough Council in September.
A full version of this story can be found in the Haslemere Herald of August 13.
