PETERSFIELD Bicycle Buddies (PBB) is inviting people to meet the group – in a  bid to get more riders out and about.

The group is keen to encourage and support cyclists of all abilities to get out on their bikes, and particularly welcomes new, nervous or rusty riders.

It is holding a come-and-meet-us session on Sunday, March 20 at The Avenue Pavilion in Petersfield, between 11.15am and 2.30pm.

The chair of the group, Lynn Paterson said: “People can drop in for a chat, over coffee and cake, and find out what Petersfield Bicycle Buddies has to offer, talk to existing members, and find out about the range of rides on offer.

“New or rusty riders of all ages can get some practice on our short local jaunts, designed to boost confidence and slowly build those cycling muscles.

“There’s a chance to take on longer distances, too. We explore the local countryside, which is absolutely stunning – particularly now spring is finally arriving!

“We offer rides that are supportive and non-competitive, and you don’t have to wear lycra.”

People attending with their bikes can also get them set up by a professional: Jethro, of Hepworth Cycles.

He will be on hand throughout the event, helping people get to grips with the correct saddle height, tyre pressures and gear selection as well as providing other guidance that may be needed.

There will be number of pre-loved bikes for sale, refurbished by members of Petersfield Bicycle Buddies and Liss Men’s Shed, as well as a selection of pre-loved cycle accessories including pumps and lights etc. In addition, small cycling-related prizes can be won in a simple quiz.
