IT was showtime for a week at Baby Sensory Barn in Grayshott, when members sparkled for a sponsored ‘sensathon.’

More than 100 babies aged up to 13 months, attend the sessions at Applegarth Farm, and they all wore their glitziest costumes for the showtime-themed event in aid of Tommy’s charity, which funds medical research into the causes of miscarriages and premature births.

The charity hopes to raise £500,000 from baby sensory and toddler sense classes across the country. The money raised will help fund Tommy’s four research centres.

One-in-four UK parents loses a baby during pregnancy or birth and 60,000 babies are born prematurely each year.

“It was a fantastic to see the little ones dressed up and enjoying the Sensathon Showtime class,” owner, class leader and regional franchisee Angela Kennedy, said.

“We are so grateful to all our amazing clients and their family members, who were enthusiastically supporting support our sensathon.

“They have made incredibly generous donations, helping us to raise money for the baby charity Tommy’s and helping to save other babies lives.

“We were delighted to be involved with our third sensathon to help to raise funds for Tommy’s.

“It is wonderful to be able to contribute towards such a worthwhile charity.

“A baby is the greatest gift, and we are so blessed to have 110 gorgeous babies attending our classes weekly at baby sensory barn.

“In addition to the sensathon, we are also delighted to have supported the Haslemere Hares Community Art Project.

“We have our very own hare – MisCourage. Her aim is to encourage those that have sadly been affected by miscarriage, to have the courage to seek support, and to raise awareness for Tommy’s. Funds raised through MisCourage will be donated to our Tommy’s Sensathon fund.”
