THEY may have come as witches, ghouls, ghosts an even the odd zombie, but there was nothing scary about the children’s Hallowe’en at Alton Community Centre.

“We just made it a fun event‚“ organiser Miranda Thompson-Webb said of last Wednesday’s ghoulish goings on.

“It was more like an old-fashioned holiday camp entertainment with everyone joining in the songs, there was lots of dancing and things like musical bumps, and we even had a conga!”

The youngsters were put through their paces by Megan Cox, helped by Xantia, and enjoyed party games and “non-stop fun”. There were even prizes of sweets for the best costumes, although all the partygoers received sweet treats.

Miranda added: “The youngsters all had a lot of fun and our cafe supplied any refreshments they might have needed. Now we are planning our Christmas party.”
