THIS year’s holiday bible club at Bethel Baptist Church took children ‘Around the World’.

During the three days of the club, from August 25-27, around 80 children ‘visited’ Africa, Antarctica and Asia.

Youngsters aged between five and 11 went along, as well as lots of volunteers from the church who helped run the club, which has been an annual event in the Upper Hale community for around 40 years.

Children took part in a variety of games, crafts, songs and Bible stories, as well as learning about who God is.

The week ended with a free family event at Hale Recreation Ground on Friday evening, with a barbecue, candy floss and bouncy castles.

And on Sunday, there was an informal church service for all the children and their families, allowing them to share what they had done during the week.

A Kids Thursday Club (KTC) also runs throughout the year at the church for children in school Years 3 to 5, between 5.30pm and 7pm.

KTC Extra, a club for children in Year 6, is also set to re-start this month from 6.45pm to 8pm.
