WEYDON schoolboy Charlie Mann will be competing in the UK kart championship, Superone Series in his Junior Tal-Ko TKM kart.

The championship consists of seven rounds of racing at tracks across the country and runs from March to September, the final round being at the PFI international race circuit in Lincolnshire.

Charlie will be competing against 30 of the best drivers in his class at speeds up to 70mph.

Racing is a family affair as Charlie’s younger brother Fergus narrowly missed out on winning the Winter Karting Championship at his local race track at Blackbushe Airfield.

Fergus was excluded in heat one of the final round and relegated to start from the back of the grid (21st), he fought back to finish fifth in the final and third in the championship.

Charlie will also be testing in his Citroen Saxo VTR in preparation for competing in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2018.
