LIPHOOK Theatre Club has staged a production of The Goblin Next Door to an audience of family and friends at the village’s Methodist Church.
The band of goblins were taught their lesson by some delightful fairies and cheeky pixies together with the help of some enchanting woodland creatures and made to see the benefits of making friends.
A theatre group spokesman said that the children had been working hard since April making props and scenery, singing, dancing, acting and learning all aspects of stage craft and the performance was very well received by all.
They were enthusiastic and loved acting out the story as well as singing the rousing and amusing songs. The costumes, scenery and props looked amazing and every effort was made to give young children a real taste of live theatre.
Liphook Theatre Club led by Vanessa Breach, Sue Calvert, Hazel Simmons, Mandy Coluccia and Theresa Jordan, in association with The MAD Company, is running a summer school for a week in August and will start another after-school club on Monday, September 12, culminating in a performance in December.
