STOLEN golf trophies have been recovered after being spotted by a Farnham family in the River Wey on Sunday afternoon.

But the find is no cause for celebration at Farnham and Hindhead golf clubs, who both lost a century of history to burglars in October.

Surrey Police said this week that none of the trophies found were stolen from their clubs and that they are believed to be linked to a burglary at a golf club in Southampton.
