A FORMER golf club captain appeared in court last week after shooting a Canada goose.
Roger Deadman stunned fellow golfers when he used a shotgun to kill the wild goose at Petersfield Golf Cub, on Tankerdale Lane, on April 12. He fired two cartridges into the bird as it sat by the reservoir on the sixth hole.
Mr Deadman, 70, was acquitted by magistrates in Aldershot, having denied a charge of intentionally killing a wild bird under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
