BLACKMOOR Golf Club seniors have pulled out all the stops to raise funds for The Honeypot Children’s Charity - their nominated cause for the last year.
With captain Norman Foster at the helm of the fundraising, Blackmoor Golf Club seniors have raised more than £4,100 so that young carers and vulnerable children can take a break from their circumstances at home and enjoy fun-filled respite breaks at Honeypot House in the New Forest.
Blackmoor Golf Club seniors have taken part in a charity golf day and auction, raffles and other activities. Mr Foster also did a fun run on Christmas Day and his three grandchildren undertook a sponsored silence.
“I was delighted to support The Honeypot Children’s Charity after I saw a documentary on television about the lives of young carers,” Mr Foster said.
“We were very pleased to be able to visit Honeypot House, in the New Forest, to see all its wonderful facilities for the children.”
Viv Carter, regional community fundraising officer for Honeypot, added: “The generosity of members of Blackmoor Golf Club seniors will give Honeypot children a break from their caring responsibilities or issues at home.”
