THESE lovingly decorated artworks are just some of those now up for grabs as part of a town charity arts project set to raise thousandsof pounds for different charities.

The Haslemere Hares saw local artists and schools decorating more than 100 sponsored fibreglass bunnies, which have been on display throughout the town since May.

Supporters can bid for a select group of hares in an online auction which will run until midday on Sunday (September 16).

Prices range from £200 to £500 and the hares come in a wide range of designs and support a variety of different charities.

Would-be bidders can also view the online auction hares ‘in the flesh’ at a free event at The Georgian Hotel, in Haslemere High Street, on Saturday, September 15, from 11am until 4pm, when some of the artists will be present. Supporters can also snap up a bone china mug or a postcard – each one featuring a different Haslemere Hare – either at the hotel, on the website or from main sponsor Marley Flowers.

The project concludes with a grand finale at Lythe Hill Hotel on Wednesday, September 26, when 17 hares will go to the highest bidder at a live auction.

Tickets cost £15 for the viewing, auction, with fizz and canapes, and £40 to include dinner afterwards.

Money raised from the ticket sales will go to to Stepping Stones School and Christopher’s Children’s Hospice. To buy tickets email: [email protected] .
