LOCAL DJ Keith Connors has organised a long-awaited Good Knight Club Reunion with an 1980s theme.

Back in its heyday the club, off Three Gates Lane behind the museum, was one of the places to be seen in and for the people of Haslemere it was popular for years until it closed in 1987.

Keith said: “This is a real chance to turn back the clock, revisit the mad 1980s and meet up with old friends and colleagues.

“Did you celebrate your hen night, engagement party or 18th or 21st birthday party at the club?

“Or perhaps you even worked there, if so, this is one event you will not want to miss.”

With the old club gone, the town’s Georgian Hotel, in Haslemere High Street, will host the event on Saturday, October 15, and the party starts at 8.30pm and will go on until 1am.

The club was an important part of the community and was sadly missed when it finally closed its doors after decades of entertaining thousands of customers.

Keith remembers when he first worked there as a DJ back in 1983 and stayed on until it closed. He told The Herald: “It was a brilliant club, friendly people, everyone was up for a real party every week.

“On entering the hotel, the memories will come flooding back as at first you’ll walk past a photo gallery from the nostalgic days of the club and then into the main room to party the night away.

“Music from your party years will echo all around with nostalgic hits from artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and who could forget the young guns known as Wham.

“There were the classic movies like Dirty Dancing, Top Gun and the Blues Brothers all providing outstanding soundtracks, which will also be played on the night.

“With so many more definitive artists from that unforgettable decade the night will undoubtedly be one to remember.”

Keith and Matt Reynolds will spin all your past favourite tunes bringing back your dancefloor memories.

“There’s always the chance of bumping into some friends from the past too,” he added.
