TOWNSFOLK are invited to round-off carnival weekend by coming along to the town’s biggest picnic between 12pm and 5pm this Sunday (June 26) at Gostrey Meadow.

Thousands are expected to attend the free event, which will include a number of attractions and live music from several local bands including Ukelele Jam, Betsa Beats, Voice & Keys, Danny Lee Band and The Arc Band.

Picnic in the Park is organised by Farnham Town Council and is sponsored by The Duke of Cambridge pub, which is part of the Red Mist Leisure Group. The summer programme of Music in the Meadow is sponsored by Savills.

Jill Hargreaves, the town council’s lead member for tourism and events, said: “After the fun of the carnival, Picnic in the Park is the perfect way to wind down and relax with some friends. All you need to do is bring a chair or a blanket, something to eat and drink and a few friends or family members. We will provide the entertainment and have great bands lined up – they promise to play a variety of music that will appeal to all tastes.”
