THE North Hampshire Primary Care Group, which embraces GP practices in both Alton and Bordon, is planning to continue its pioneering progress in helping to modernise and shape local health services by seeking to become a Primary Care Trust.

The largest of five primary care groups within the North and Mid Hampshire Health Authority area, the North Hampshire PCG currently has 179 GPs in 24 practices serving a population of over 240,000. It was formed in April last year, as part of the first phase of the government's commitment to modernising the NHS.
