DOCTORS in Haslemere have made the first move toward taking control of healthcare budgets, spearheading the largest reform of the NHS since its foundation.

A group of family doctors across Haslemere, Fernhurst, Grayshott and Grayswood, working under the 'Golden Valley' banner have been accepted as a "shadow consortium" by the Department of Health.
