FRENSHAM charity The Helen Ariel Dyslexia Centre held a graduate ceremony at Farnham Castle for students from Surrey and also Berkshire, East Sussex, Essex, Hampshire, Kent, London, Middlesex, West Sussex and Wiltshire.

Centre principal Bernadette McLean gave a presentation at the event, which was attended by 50 educational professionals specialising in teaching, supporting and assessing learners with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties.

Special Level 5 high attainment awards were presented to Vicki Enticknap from Four Marks, Rachel Gordon from Salisbury and Fiona Parsons from Reigate. Awards were presented to Julia Tarrant from Twyford, Pippa Hooijberg from Worthing and Emma Kelly from Oxted, for significant achievement at Level 7.

Mrs McLean said: “Our graduates have demonstrated the high standards that Helen Arkell are known for and we congratulate them for their achievements. Over the course of their careers their skills will enable thousands of children and adults with dyslexia to make the most of their difference and talents.”

The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre was established in 1971 and it is widely respected for identifying and assessing dyslexia at all ages, and for providing high quality courses for practitioners.

Gary Hay, deputy chairman of trustees, said: “Our renewed focus on fundraising at Helen Arkell is key to delivering our plans to reach out and help more people with dyslexia.”
