LDN Wrestling superstars brought the house down with their debut show at Liphook’s Millennium Centre.

Top grapplers from both sides of the pond included Farnham-based LDN British champion Alan Lee Travis, as well as WWE superstar Joe E Legend and Canadian Golden Boy Paul Synnot, who did battle with American contenders Pittsburgh native MV Young, US champion Mr Christmas Tree, and New York’s Anthony Bowens.

They all delivered high-impact battle action to a full house.

Alan, a personal trainer and LDN head coach, became hooked on wrestling as a young boy and started training at the age of 12.

He is one of the most accomplished LDN superstars, having been a former tag champion and a former three-time LDN champion.

“I enjoy the physical as well as mental side of wrestling, which has now become a full-time occupation,” he said.

“I usually compete in 165 shows a year and have won the gold belt several times. I introduce my own British style to every event and have created my very own chant for the fans, which is ‘Eee-sy’ to copy."

He added: “Every day includes at least three hours of training and I have recently found a 13-year-old protege who I am training up to become a wrestler, which if you keep fit can last until you are 55 years old.

“The three most important things you have to deliver in the ring are strength, power and speed, as well as a personal image.”

Alan was hospitalised the day before the Liphook show but managed to recover in time for the event to give a polished performance.

Canadian-born Paul, who also works as a body guard in London, comes from a different background of body-building and martial arts, which involves daily workouts as well as weightlifting.

He joined the Scots Guards for five years, before becoming part of the LDN Wrestling roster.

“I love the theatrical and physical side of wrestling,” he said. “It’s exciting and provides great family entertainment, allowing each of us to add that personal touch to our performance.”

Joe E Legend is an international superstar having worked in more than 100 countries to worldwide audiences while taking part in WWE and TNA Wrestling.

LDN promoter Sanjay Bagga said: “We are celebrating our 12th anniversary this year, and LDN has become synonymous with top quality live events, perfectly blending the glitz and glamour of American sports entertainment with traditional British wrestling.

“We create a modern approach to wrestling that is always a great night out for people of all ages from children to grandparents, and judging by the response here at the Liphook Millennium Centre we will be back soon!”

LDN has already filmed several episodes of the revamped series for World of Sport, which will air on ITV later this year.
