THERE will be a light show to remember this Saturday (December 10) as the ‘Farnham Christmas House’ turns on its display for a 26th year.

Gail Whattingham and her family have raised more than £25,000 for an array of charities over the past two-and-a-half decades by elaborately decorating their house and garden at 82 Greenfield Road every Christmas.

Everyone is invited to attend the great switch-on of this year’s display, at 5.30pm on Saturday, raising money for Shooting Star Chase’s hospice for life-limited children in Guildford. It comes after a campaign was launched in October to replace many of Gail’s 100,000 lights after they were badly damaged by bad weather last December.

The campaign was led by Lee Moran of Moran Roofing, and more than doubled its £500 target within a month thanks largely to a £500 donation by Farnham Round Table.
