WAVERLEY Abbey School in Farnham have collected more than 4,000 pairs of shoes for Sal’s Shoes– an organisation which distributes footwear to children who cannot afford a pair themselves.
Headteacher Kate Redman said: “Parent, Caline May alerted the school to Sal’s Shoes. We knew that at the end of the school year many of our pupils would have grown out of their shoes but the shoes themselves would still be in good condition.
“We were amazed at the response from the school – over 4,000 pairs of shoes were collected.
“Mrs May did an amazing job of managing the collection, including flying pairs of shoes to the collection point.”
