MEMBERS of Core Sports football team in Farnham have returned to England after making their mark in Holland earlier this month.
The team based at Weydon School were chosen to represent Core Sports in Holland to battle it out against Feyenoord FC who have been dubbed the “best” Dutch academy for five years running.
Chris Scudder, head of academy development and recruitment, said: “The Under 10s did very well and played some fantastic counter-attacking football.
“Coming out 4 - 0 winners in the game is a great result- considering our players are all local boys playing the best academy in Holland and the fifth top academy in the world.

Lucky local resident celebrates £1,000 Christmas win in André Noir draw“The Under 11s had to play differently as it was their first 11 versus 11 game. They showed great energy to win the ball back and how to defend and become compact, then try to counter and play beyond the striker, again another positive result with a goalless draw.
“The players loved the experience and have been extremely lucky in being asked to return next year.
“I would like to thank all the staff that came out and helped; Dan Goodall, Luke Perkins and Andy Rider.”
