IN any group of people, there are going to be a few talented creative types. Farnham Local Food (FLF) seems to have more than its fair share, with even some professional artists among its ranks.

Last November, some of its members got together and decided to produce creative work on the general theme of FLF itself. The idea gained its own momentum, and the results can be seen at a new exhibition of art and crafts currently running at The West End Centre in Aldershot.

The exhibition boasts a variety of work using traditional media such as paint, photography and print, as well as some more unusual artistic techniques ranging from dyeing to pinhole photography, willow and twine, cyanotype, poetry and writing, and even a miniature vegetable garden.

The whole exhibition space is also decorated with bunting, and is guarded by a life-sized scarecrow. It will remain at the West End Centre until July 28 and can be viewed during the centre’s normal opening hours.

Farnham Local Food is a not-for profit co-operative, growing fresh vegetables for its members.
