HART District has retained it green flags.
The three green spaces – Hartley Wintney Common, Fleet Pond Nature Reserve and Elvetham Heath Nature Reserve – are among a record-breaking 1,686 parks and open spaces that have received a prestigious Green Flag Award, which shows the mark of a quality park or green space.
In its 20th year, the award recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country.
A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained, and has excellent facilities.
Hartley Wintney Common retained the flag for the fourth year, as well as the Green Heritage Award for the third year.
At the Fleet-based nature reserves, Elvetham Heath successfully achieved their Green Flag Award for the fifth year running, while Fleet Pond Nature Reserve was awarded the flag for a second year.
Dr Anne Crampton, Cabinet member for community well-being at Hart District Council, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive Green Flag Awards from Keep Britain Tidy for our sites across Hart.
“These awards recognise and highlight that people in Hart are benefiting from a green space of the very highest quality.
“The Hart District Council countryside rangers, and partners, work extremely hard to keep these areas well maintained for all to enjoy and we recognise that open spaces play a significant role within community well-being.”
