A VILLAGE south of Petersfield can expect to see an influx of 207 homes, a bowling green, sports pitches, pavilion, allotments and cycles paths after East Hampshire District Council gave a housing scheme its long-awaited go ahead.

Developers Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes were granted permission to build on Down Farm following the demolition of existing buildings and structures on land south of Chalton Lane, Clanfield.

The project was given the given the green light at a special planning committee meeting last Wednesday despite objections from Clanfield Parish Council and almost 60 letters of objection from residents.
