REPLACING the Finnimore Pavilion in Anstey Park has been given the green light thanks to a Sport England lottery grant.

After almost 10 years of trying to source the finances, owner Alton Town Council welcomed the news that a grant of £296,264 towards the capital scheme – plus an additional £56,424 to fund a full-time sports development officer for three years to encourage and generate greater use of the new building – has been given the go-ahead.
