A NEW plan to give Petersfield people a bigger say in how they can help shape the town in the future has been given the green light by Petersfield Town Council.

With a raft of development plans in the pipeline for Petersfield, among them the controversial Causeway Farm on the outskirts of town for almost 250 homes, a school, community centre and other development, the Neighbourhood Plan is being headed by Neil Hitch, the town clerk, as part of a steering group to look at the town's development over the next 15 years.

"I think it is important that the community has a say in how the town takes shape in the future and it is important that Petersfield Town Council is seen as the centre of delivering that," said Mr Hitch.
