WIND and showers failed to dampen spirits at the bustling Sustainability Festival in Gostrey Meadow.

The organisers from Farnham Community Farm played host to a multitude of other local organisations comprising more than 50 diverse vibrant stalls.

It is thought the event’s popularity has soared in response to people wanting to live more sustainably to combat climate change and ecological breakdown.

Ideas and activities ranged from upcycling waste, recycling unloved bicycles, creating wildlife-friendly areas, making comfrey compost, sewing a bag, t’ai chi, learning which plastic bags can be recycled, and talks on electric vehicles, climate science and so much more.

Children played parachute games, did treasure hunts and got creative, while XR Farnham Youth managed the recycling bins to make sure the minimum goes to landfill.

The buzzing atmosphere was helped by lots of good local food, drinks, live music and sunny spells.
