ELDERLY people in Petersfield are being given the chance to become computer wizards at a new drop-in centre at Winton House in the High Street.
Age Concern has funded the scheme, which gives people the opportunity to learn how to use the internet and e-mail. Courses on the basics of word processing are also available.
The centre was launched last week when chairman of the Petersfield branch of Age Concern, Elsa Bulmer, joined town mayor Kenneth Hick and a crowd of elderly people keen to learn about the latest technology.
Mr Hick told The Herald he was impressed with the facilities on offer at Winton House and encouraged people to have a go.

"The most useful aspect of this scheme is the ability to use it as a word processor. People will have the ability to put on to paper the recollections of their lives."
Elsa Bulmer added: "This is an absolute celebration of elderly people who wish to keep in touch with the 21st century. The launch was very successful and I am certain it will be a success."
