A group of 25 fundraisers will be walking along the Jurassic Coast to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell.

The group will begin their journey on Saturday, June 1 in Swanage and will travel 30 miles along the coast to Weymouth Beach in memory and celebration of their close friend Terry.

Terry was cared for by Phyllis Tuckwell through to the end of his life when he sadly lost his battle with cancer on January 5 this year.

Organiser of the fundraiser and close friend Gary said: “Although Terry was not blood-related, he was very much part of our family.

“When Terry was diagnosed with stage four cancer, he came to live with me and my wife Lorraine, until he sadly passed away on January 5. It was an absolute privilege to care for and support him. He was very special in so many ways and was loved by everyone.”

Phyllis Tuckwell’s community fundraiser Samantha West said: “Every day we support over 250 patients, relatives and carers, through medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support, and we are very grateful to Gary and everyone who is taking part in this walk, and all those who have sponsored them, for choosing to raise money to support this care.”

The group has raised more than £2,000 so far and is continuing to fundraise to hit a target of £10,000. Head to the link to help support the group https://www.justgiving.com/page/andy-danaher-1709212920150
